Object Theatre
Initiation Workshops
A workshop leader will initiate your students to Object Theatre through a series of practical exercises, adapted for your age group. This year, our workshops have been adapted to be delivered in person and online, for those who require it.
- The workshop leader introduces Object Theatre with a short presentation and explains the basic principles of this artistic form.
- Students start by physically and vocally warming up. They introduce themselves and are led through a few theatre exercises on emotions, rhythm, focus…
- Grades 1, 2 and 3: Students choose and manipulate objects based on various instructions – make them appear, create an emotion, follow a musical rhythm. At the end of the workshop, they transform a napkin using the techniques learnt and by letting their imagination speak for itself.
- Grade 4 onwards: Through exercises that highlight the poetic and expressive power of objects, they create silent sequences by following rhythm and acting instructions given by the workshop leader. These are done with or without music.
- Practice French oral communication and expression skills, within the context of an artistic activity, in front of peers.
- Gain confidence through the use of their imagination.
- Develop a personal aesthetic and a critical vision.
- Work with scale.
- Discover a new artistic language, that of Object Theatre.
- Stimulate creativity by looking at everyday objects with a new artistic mindset.

Improvisation workshops
The theatrical improvisation workshop offers students a unique opportunity to develop their creativity, confidence, and ability to work as a team. Designed to be flexible and adaptable, this workshop allows for participation at various levels of commitment and duration. Whether for a single session or a full series of workshops, students will explore the basics of theatrical improvisation while having fun.
The theatrical improvisation workshop is designed as a space for experimentation and creation, distinct from competitive improvisation matches. Students are both spectators and improvisers, incorporating various techniques from drama, singing, and dance. The activities help students explore their bodies as a means of expression, navigate space, develop active listening skills, express and manage emotions, improve concentration, unleash their imagination, and build stories with constraints. This approach aims to foster creativity, listening, and exchange among students, while promoting their personal and collective development in a playful and collaborative setting. Additionally, improvisation supports the development of French and its use in various situations, thereby reinforcing the spontaneous and authentic practice of the language.
