Scène écoresponsable accreditation
In 2022, Théâtre la Seizième became the first theatre in British Columbia to receive a Scène écoresponsable accreditation.
Scène écoresponsable rewards theatres that are committing to sustainable development. This initiative of the Réseau des femmes en environnement and the Conseil québécois des événements écoresponsables aims at raising awareness and provide tools for theatres to introduce and improve a sustainability mindset in their practices. There are three levels of accreditation: Gold, Silver or Bronze.
The accreditation awarded to Théâtre la Seizième is Silver.
Ecoresponsible policy
With an accelerating socio-ecological transition in the performing arts world, Théâtre la Seizième has embarked on an eco-responsible approach as part of its commitment to environmental and social sustainability.
The company has adopted an eco-responsible policy that defines objectives in terms of waste management, responsible purchasing, transport and energy.
You can access our eco-responsible policy here.
In a sector as fast-moving as that of the performing arts, we want to keep the door open to new thinking and practices in order to reduce our environmental footprint.
